Vision for Coaching

All children, participants and athletes should receive the coaching they need to have fun and fulfil their potential.

The coaching legacy beyond 2012 is integral to this vision. To create a long-lasting legacy, we will need more active, skilled and qualified coaches in place by the summer of 2012. Supported by governing bodies of sport, county sports partnerships (CSPs) and other key stakeholders, a planned, coherent approach needs to be in place for the identification, training and support of enough coaches at different levels to meet the anticipated demand.

To ensure there is capacity among coaches, sports coach UK is challenging governing bodies of sport to prepare their coaching workforce and guiding them on how to achieve this.

The vision is that the emerging Coaching System Support Networks will provide the mechanisms to ensure national policies are delivered effectively at a local level in schools, colleges, clubs and community settings to improve coaching and increase participation throughout the UK.
